2003 Miss Rodeo Nebraska

Lynn Welker

On June 19, 2002, I was honored to receive the title of Miss Rodeo Nebraska 2003. Beginning in January with my official Coronation, and during the year, I will travel over 40,000 miles throughout the state as well as our country promoting not only the state of Nebraska, but also a sport that celebrates our western heritage. In December of 2003, my travels will lead me to Las Vegas, Nevada, where I will vie for the coveted title of Miss Rodeo America, which is held in conjunction with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.

Growing up on a ranch deep in the valleys of the Nebraska Sandhills, I have learned to appreciate family values and ethics of hard work that are rooted here. It is because of these very outstanding qualities that our country has thrived. I am excited to have the opportunity during my reign to demonstrate to others how rodeo has both enhanced and enriched my life!

I am currently a junior at the University of Wyoming in Laramie where I am a double major in Criminal Justice and Pharmacology. My vigorous travel schedule will require me to take a year off of my education and also demands a considerable amount of funding. My visits to schools, hospitals, agricultural events, major rodeos, and other social functions could not be done without the aid of sponsors. Any donations, large or small, toward my traveling expenses and other costs I will encounter during my year will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for sponsoring me and helping me become a successful Miss Rodeo Nebraska.
