Gina Jespersen

2014 Miss Rodeo Nebraska

Gina Jespersen

“Ride with No Regrets”

Honored, privileged, fortunate…the adjectives are never ending when I consider how blessed I am to be representing my remarkable birthplace of Nebraska. The gratitude continues when looking forward to the role I will hold as an ambassador of the magnificent western way of life and finest professional sport in existence, Rodeo.

I am Gina Jespersen, the proud daughter of Don and Joni Jespersen. My family would not be complete without the sibling I have shared every moment of life with, my awesome twin brother Taylor Dane and of course my Miniature Australian Shepherd, Remy Jewel. As the 5th generation on my families ranch and farming operation, my western heritage runs deep. I have spent 23 years gaining valuable life lessons in the subjects of hard work, honesty, and integrity.

These values, along with a passion for rodeo, and dedication to a life long dream, brought me to the 58th MRN Association Inc. pageant where I was crowned Miss Rodeo Nebraska 2014. This once in a lifetime ride began on June 12th, 2013 in North Platte during the Buffalo Bill Rodeo in conjunction with NEBRASKAland Days where I was honored with the Speech and Written Test Awards, along with winning the categories of Appearance, Personality, and the coveted Horsemanship title.

I was born with a love of cattle but from a young age I knew life would not be complete with out an equine companion. I devoted my time to showing horses competitively in 4-H and at the AQHA national level. After graduating from Hemingford High School in 2008 I was awarded a scholarship to attend South Dakota State University where I was a 4-year western member of their NCAA Division I Equestrian team.

I was voted Team Captain my senior year, was a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, and received my four year SDSU Athletic Letter. From there I transferred to Black Hills State University where I graduated in December of 2013 with a degree in Elementary Education with a goal of obtaining my Masters.

As I travel throughout Nebraska and the greater United States representing the sport of rodeo, I share one of my greatest passions, traveling. Traveling abroad throughout Europe has taught me to embrace all that this world has to offer but always reminding me that my home, in Nebraska, is truly “The Good Life”.

My life ambition is to aid in the personal growth and success of young children, striving to instill a sense of self-worth, high morals., and self-confidence. I will start by sharing my life’s motto “Ride with No Regrets” Life is unpredictable, one may never know the trials and triumphs that lay ahead on their journey but if individuals embrace their true passions and live life for all of the glorious wonder it provides each and every day, they will truly Ride with No Regrets!
