NEBRASKAland DAYS ON Parade is Celebrating it’s 50th edition in 2013. It was started in Lincoln in 1964 by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission as a way to highlight the many things Nebraska has to offer to tourists from around the country.
Now a Nebraska tradition, the Parade is one of the largest in the Mid-West, with over 120 entries and a route of nearly a mile and a half. Thousands of people crowd the streets of North Platte for a glimpse of the pageantry and, of course, some of the tons of candy that gets handed out along the route.
